Garmin 106SV Fish Finder IN FLORIDA … LOVING IT!
I have now owned three Garmin units and two of other manufacturers (H & L). I have progressively bought larger Garmin units going from a 7″ to 9″ and now to a 10″ screen. I should have just swallowed real hard and bought the larger unit first … EXCEPT, this new 10″ screen model is touch screen and has the Active Captain app on it (which I have NOT learned yet). At present, This Ultra 106SV has more options and computer technology in it than I have the capacity to understand. I am NOT a computer geek, so I am slowly learning everything this unit can do for me. But I can tell you … the colors, contrasts, words and more are all super sharp and the sonar features of side scan, traditional and clearvue are just outstanding! These machines won’t catch fish for you, but they sure do help me find fish! I have over 500 waypoints on this machine and it says I can add another 4,500. This Ultra 106SV also has the capability to add the LIVESCOPE feature.
Targa 18 Troller –
This was exactly what I thought it would be. I hired to have it installed with the transducer and running the wiring I didn’t want to do it wrong or take the time to do it myself. The transducer need to hand at one of the lowest points on boat. I was able to use the same bracket holes from my old transducer – but since transducer was bigger then my old one – it was with in 5” or so of where my load rail so I cut about 6” off my load rail so there would be no chance it would nit when I load my boat – which was no problem for the awesome benefit of this Garmin ! This units works awesome – very accurate and easy to use – I am not a techie – but powered this up and figured out how to use it without even reading the manual !!
